Holidays {are here again} | Kid-Friendly Sydney

It's finally the school holidays here in Sydney, and unlike a lot of parents I actually really enjoy the holidays. It gives us all a chance to rest and recharge, and I love the fact that I don't have to make lunches or put on clothes every day if I don't feel like it. Or wash uniforms or wash lunchboxes sticky with yoghurt!

We haven't got a lot of plans for these holidays other than just enjoying each other's company, going to the movies to use the girls' gift vouchers and visiting a park or two. There's always heaps on in Sydney during the holidays if you're looking for things to do, and a good place to find out what's happening around town is the website Ellaslist (disclaimer, I'm an Ellaslist contributor so yes, this is a bit of shameless self-promotion).

If you've not been to the aquarium or wild life zoo at Darling Harbour lately now is a good time to go as they have a Big Ticket which you can buy to get deeply discounted entry to 2, 3 or 4 attractions (including the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium, the Wild Life Zoo, Madam Tussauds and the Sydney Tower Eye). We went to the aquarium & wild life zoo on Easter Monday and it was a lot of fun. I hadn't been to the Aquarium since I was a kid and it was just as good as I remember it. My full write-up is live over on Ellaslist now, and you can see some of the photos from our trip on my Instagram too.

One place we'll definitely be back to visit again is the new park at Schofields, Altrove Hilltop Park. We went over last Friday afternoon for a quick taster and to see the feature that everyone has been talking about, the 30m slide! It did not disappoint.

We didn't have long to visit as we had to get to Family Dinner at Dave's Mum's place and let's just say, it was really hard to drag the girls away, especially Punky who couldn't get enough of the giant slide! If you're out this way make sure you check it out, the view from the top of the slide alone is worth the drive!

Anyway, I'll leave you with a few more photos from our visit, this park seriously is beautiful (although as with all new parks these days it doesn't boast a lot of shade so slip, slop, slap if you visit in the middle of the day!)...

Are your kids on holidays now? Do you have any big plans?
