I Feel Like I'm Missing a Limb
Back in December, after Christmas, Punky and I traveled down to Wagga with most of my family to visit my sister Katie at her new house.
I took my camera (the big one, the good one, the other love of my life, after Dave and Punky that is!) fully intending to take some pictures but we ended up being so busy and spending so much time just hanging together that I totally forgot to take a single shot.
As it turns out, I also forgot to bring it home! Yep, that's right, my beloved camera has been living in my sister's house in Wagga since December and I am feeling so lost without it. Almost every day I see something that I want to snap a picture of and go to grab it and its not there. It's like missing a limb. Ok, not entirely like missing a limb. I doubt my step-dad (who actually is missing a limb) would agree with me. But it feels strange all the same.
Thankfully I still have the camera on my phone which I can use, although it is getting to the point where I need to go through and delete some, the photos alone are taking up half the memory of the phone!
And thankfully I only left my camera at Kate's, it could have been so much worse, I could have actually lost it and that would have been absolutely devastating for me! Photography is my creative outlet and while I can still take photos, I can't experiment with the phone camera in the same way I can with the DSLR.
I should be using this time to experiment a little more with my creativity on the iPhone camera and now that I know that I still have almost a month to go without my baby I might just do that.
But in the meantime I will just be thankful that I will get my baby back one day, and thankful for the fact I have other ways to take pictures while she is away.
Is there anything in your life that you would just feel absolutely lost without, not people, but objects, things? It goes without saying that we'd be absolutely lost without certain people in our lives, but what about stuff?

Yep, I love my camera (this is my first one) so much that I was taking pictures on my own wedding day! |

Hang in there, a month will go quickly...
Well yes. I do. Even though it weighs a tonne (well around 2.3kg with my big lens - I've put it on the scales). But I *love* it.
I left my phone at home all day today... and I couldn't care less. Until I wanted to take a photo. Go figure!
Hope your "baby" is home soon!
I really hope the next month goes fast too!
Hope you get your baby back asap!!!
Re the phone filling up, mine had up to 3,000 on it at one time. I do, however, upload all my pictures to my hard drive and the web every time I charge the battery and sync with iTunes. I then go and do a big delete through the computer rather than having to touch on every individual thumbnail within the camera roll.
If you want t a cool iPhone camera app to play with while waiting for your baby to return, try KitCam it is easy and a lot of fun. V
