My Top 5... Pinterest Princess Party Ideas

Princess Party Ideas

In November 2014 we celebrated Punky's 3rd birthday. When it came to picking a theme there was only one choice. A princess party.

Originally we were going to make it a Frozen theme, but as I didn't want to have to stick too closely to the Frozen characters and colours I decided to open it up a bit and just make it Princesses all-round. I managed to find heaps of pink and princess themed stuff at the local Reject Shop and once I'd got all the decorations up it was like a Princess had vomited all over the place!

Four {52 Week Project} | Photography

A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2015.
{Punky} She gave up her day sleep ages ago. About 18 months I think. In it's place we have quiet time. It's not always quiet. But some times, she'll quite happily lie down and watch a movie, with her Blankey Bear snuggled under her chin. I love watching her watching a movie she really likes. The total concentration on what's happening, the way her expression changes, the way she calls out and says "Look Mummy, look!" and explain to me what is happening.

The Museum of Fire {Penrith NSW} | Kid-Friendly Sydney

At the start of the new year my extended family and I visited the Museum of Fire, in Penrith, west of Sydney. The first time I visited the Museum of Fire was ages and ages ago, back when I was about 10 years old. My family has a connection to the Museum, in that my Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great (got that!) Grandfather, Andrew Torning, formed the first volunteer fire company in Sydney, The No. 1 Fire Company.

Three {52 week project} | Photography

A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2015.
{Punky} Nana & Pop's place. The best place to play, with all the old-school toys. And the Aunties & Uncles. So much joy in this place, so many happy memories. We'll be sad when it's sold.

The Lazy Girl's Guide to Cooking... How to make pancakes from scratch | Food

It's no secret that I am really not a fan of cooking. It's not that I'm no good at it, it's just that I really don't enjoy doing it. Probably because I enjoy the cleaning up after cooking even less! When I have to I'll cook something, usually a sweet treat of some kind. And with a little help from my baking blogger-friend Lauren, I can even make a kick-arse birthday cake. From scratch.

In the last 6 month, on the rare occasions that I've cooked, 99% of what I've made is from scratch. Because a) once you do it a few times you realise it's not actually that hard if you have the basic ingredients on hand. And b) I have been too lazy and disorganised to have bought a packet mix ahead of time. Dave has been building up quite the store of herbs and spices and other magic things to recreate the stuff he watches on the Food channel, and I've built up quite the baking store. I reckon at the rate we're going, we should be pretty set come 2025 for some serious kitchen adventures!

Taking Stock {January 2015} // Life

I've decided to join in with Pip from Meet Me at Mike's and countless other bloggers in taking stock each month. I think it may be nice to take a bit of time to have a think about what's been going on in my life and also a good way to see how things are changing from month to month.

I've made no secret of the fact that this year is going to be one of change and interesting things. From Tafe to my smallest girl starting daycare, to big family happenings and small personal projects, 2015 is one that I want to document and remember well.

So without further ado, here's me. Taking stock...

Two {52 Week Project} | Photography

A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2015.
{Punky} Punky loves to run. Why walk when you can get there faster, and have more fun, by running. Running around the house, running around the park, running around the river. The energy is boundless. And sometimes a little exhausting!

One {52 Week Project} | Photography

A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2015.

{Punky} When I look at this photo it's hard to believe this is the same small, helpless being that I carried home from the hospital just over 3 years ago. Gone is the baby that I loved so much, and in her place, this stunning creature, on the verge of greatness, that I love even more, if possible.
