Hangin' in the Hawkesbury: Windsor Riverside Markets // Life

On Saturday my sister and BIL came over for the morning and we went and checked out the new Windsor Riverside Markets which are held at Governor Phillip Park in Windsor, in the Hawkesbury region of NSW. Filled with over 100 craft, art, food & fresh produce stalls, the new monthly markets are a great addition to the Hawkesbury local calendar...

Windsor Riverside Markets

There was heaps to see, some really great food stalls (I had a delicious beef, fetta and spinach gozelme for lunch), a petting zoo and pony rides for the little ones, as well as an area set-up by the local YMCA for the kids to kick around mini soccer balls. The girls had a ball in the petting zoo and playing in the soccer area. The adults enjoyed the stalls and food on offer.

If you live in Sydney and you are looking for something to do the 2nd or 3rd Saturday of the month then you should come over to the markets for an excellent family day out. You can see all the dates for the markets for the rest of the year by checking out their FB page here.

There were two stalls that were particularly switched on to the current preschool Frozen obsession, and my sister and I will be heading back to the October markets to pick-up Punky and Zee some Elsa & Anna costumes (only $25!) for Punky's Frozen-themed birthday I'm planning for November.

There was also an awesome stall there by Beady Boo Designs where I picked up the Frozen necklace shown above for an awesome $15! If you're interested in one for your own Frozen-obsessed kids you can find Beady Boo Designs on Facebook here. She also had some other gorgeous jewellery and I intend on buying a few more pieces at the next markets on September 13th.

Do you have markets where you live? Do you enjoy spending a morning or day wandering through the stalls?

This post is in no way sponsored. Hangin' in the Hawkesbury is a new series I've been planning to start since the beginning of the year to showcase the area that I live in and love so much. Next time I go to the markets I will remember to take my camera and take some proper photos!

The Hawkesbury region is about 60 minutes north-west of the Sydney CBD. At the foot of the Blue Mountains it's a beautiful part of the country to explore and boasts a beautiful river, museum, library, weekly and monthly markets, excellent cafes and parks, as well as a Saturday morning Farmer's Market showcasing some of the best local produce you can find.

That pony shot is just gorgeous. I like markets but I only ever go when we're travelling. I have no idea why I never go here....

Those cutie pies smiles are just awesome... and nothing cooler than pony rides. I'm a sucker for a market, especially ones with FUDGE!

One of the things I love most about markets is the guarantee of gozleme! Yum! My Man and I were just talking about having a Spring Bucket List- this looks like the perfect addition for an outing. Thanks xx

Love a big market day. We only have a few big ones each year here, but lots of small ones that I should go to more.
