Family Photos: Take 2! // Daily Life
At the end of June we had some family photos take by the fabulous Holly from Holly Priddis Photography. Holly took our last lot of family photos, back in October 2012 when Punky was 11 months old. Zee wasn't even born when I contacted Holly to enquire about having some more photos taken once Zee was the same age that Punky had been. I was so impressed with the first photos she had taken for us, and I knew she would be able to work her magic again.
Holly certainly had her work cut out for her when it came to trying to get any decent photos of Punky. Punky is full of life, which is a nice way of saying she never stops bloody moving! Constantly on the go, I knew it would be a miracle if any of the photos of her turned out. But Holly not only managed to get a few brilliant shots, the shots she did get have perfectly captured the essence of Hurricane Punky.
Zee was a little better behaved, but she too did not really want to "perform" for the camera. But I did get some lovely ones of her in the garden and with myself, not to mention a cracking one of her and hr Daddy that I am going to frame and put on my desk, once I get my office set up.
It was awesome so to get such lovely photos of the girls, looking all clean and not like they had just gone three rounds with each other like they usually do. And to also have some nice shots without their faces covered in Vegemite!
Today my baby girl Zee turns 1 and it's astounding how much her birth has changed our lives. One of the things I've found hardest to come to terms with as a Mother of two, is just how different both girls are. I was so confident before Zee was born that I knew what I was doing, that a second baby was going to be easy. What I didn't bargain on was the fact that what worked for Punky, and the things that she did, would not be the sam with Zee. Talk about a learning curve!
Trying to get a nice photo of 4 people, with all of them looking at the camera, is a challenge for even the best professionals. Throw in the mix two of those people being crazy kidlets who really don't want to sit still, and you have a recipe for disaster. But I think the shots Holly captured of our family are pretty damn awesome, and I am having a hard time choosing which one I am going to get printed on to a canvas.
What do you think? Which one/s would you choose?

Punky is on the left, Zee on the right. Both girls are almost exactly the same age in these photos, 11 months. |
