Neon Lights

Yesterday's post featured a Woody Allen quote on a photograph that I took, and today I wanted to share a few more of the photos from that evening...

In 2007 I got my very first DSLR, a second-hand Canon EOS 1D. These are some of the first shots I took with it, experimenting with some long exposures to capture the light trails of these little lights my BIL had attached to string to swing around and play with at raves. These are some of my favourite shots (please note that some of the quality of the images has been lost due to reducing their size for web publication. Please visit my tumblr blog here to see hi-res versions).

The colours look brilliant! I know a toddler or two who would be in absolute wonderland if they were there watching on!

What if can be bad, but what if can be good too. What if I take a chance? What if I change my routine? What if I blow off this house work and spoil myself? What if I try and fail?

It's all about perspective, isn't it? I try not to dwell too much on the what ifs. I think everything happens because it leads to opportunities, if we take them is the trick.

I sometimes get stuck on the what ifs, but then I think if I had gone the other way that I wouldn't be who and where I am today. Sitting and thinking about what ifs just means that I missing out on making more life experiences. They might not be all good, or all bad, but they are mine.

Awesome. I wouldn't know where to start to take photos like this. I need to take photos of street lights, so I am just gonna google for tips lol

My last two years have been filled with 'what if's' and some days, you can get so bogged down with it. I think about how different my life would be if any of my 6 pregnancies had been successful. I just have to hold on to the belief that the universe knows what I need and will provide it to me when I most need it. Maybe we would not have made the decisions we have made if our family was already 'complete'. I may have missed out on a lot of amazing learning experiences and heart fulfilling times. Its hard to ignore the voices in your head, but it is the best way of moving forward. xxxx
