I set myself the challenge this year to take 99% of my photos in manual mode. I've used manual mode often, but not in situations where I need to shoot fast or situations when someone else is relying on me for the pics. It's mostly been when shooting Dave and Punky around the house or when I go on a few photo-taking excursions for my own fun and practice.
But this year I've decided to work on my skills, and with the exception of this Friday, when I'll be taking photos getting ready for my friends wedding (where I'll use a combination of manual and shooting in P or AP/AE mode because those photos just can't be stuffed by things like incorrect exposure or aperture settings) I'll be taking the majority of my photos in manual mode and really exploring what my camera and myself can do in the world of photography. And hopefully becoming much more adept at positioning my fingers in the right spot to change the settings relatively quickly!
These photos were a spur-of-the-moment set the other morning when Punky climbed up to the table and I just decided to snap a few shots as there was some ok light coming in through the window.
