Things That Make Me Go Hmmmm. Or More Specifically WTF?!?!

There are some things and people in this world that my tiny little mind just fails to fathom. From fuckwits to mindfucks I just can't understand them, never will and to be honest, I'm not sure if I want to. And just so we are clear, I now have my Ranty McRanterson designer Ranty Pants well and truly on! You have been warned!

Like Anthony Mundine. Talk about reverse racism if ever I saw it! Everything is about race with this guy, to the point that he's become a bloody racist himself. Not to mention the bad sportsmanship he displays. The cretins he keeps around him encourage and condone this behaviour and I really can't stand the guy. He is a wanker of the highest order. He thinks that he's a great guy and that everyone else is the problem, but the simple fact of the matter is, if you have problems and issues with 90% of the people then it's not that 90% that has the problem. I'm just sayin'! Click here if you want to read someone put what I think so perfectly.

A definite candidate for Good Golly Miss Holly's Asshat award if ever I saw one!

He had such an opportunity to be a role-model for the Aboriginal community yet he's acted like such a dickhead so many times that if it was me, I wouldn't want anything to do with him! Nobody but people with delusions of grandeur think he is any kind of 'sporting hero'. Any sporting achievements he's made have been overshadowed by his complete and utter douchebaggery and I for one would be pleased to see the back of him. Or at least see him totally knocked out in the ring. But even then he would probably cry foul!

Fuckwit!

I really don't understand the physical workings of the Internet. You can try and explain it to me as often or as simply as you want but it will always be magic to me. And I am happy with that. Just as the way TV and radio waves and all other types of 'invisible' stuff works, I want to understand but I just don't have the brain capacity or enough of a care-factor to make a real effort. It's magic, plain and simple, and if Mia wants to know how it all works as she gets older she's gonna have to ask someone else!
When I google image searched 'The Internet is Magic', 90% of the results were pictures of My  Little Pony. Am I the only one who thinks that's weird? {Image Source}

Or her Dad. He's spent the last few weeks reading up on some of that stuff, as well as how light-waves work (something that he learnt a bit about for work) which has led him to reading about other stuff and I'm so glad I have a husband who cares enough to find out about this stuff. One of us has too! Not so glad that he keeps trying to explain it all to me though coz I just don't get it but I don't want to hurt his feelings by not seeming interested!

Mindfuck!

--------------------

Look, I don't like to speak ill of the dead, and I'm sure she was a really lovely person and all, but if you drink up to 10 litres(!) of coke a day you must have something wrong with your brain. Plain and bloody simple. It will kill you, as a New Zealand coroner has (inconclusively) found. But lets be totally honest here. If you think that drinking that much of anything, even water, is a good idea you are either simple, or have a mental illness.
Apparently consuming large quantities of coke on a daily basis is not good for you...
No shit, Sherlock! {Image Credit}

I get addictions, I get that she was addicted to the stuff. And you know what, that's the sad part, that she had an addiction that she couldn't break free from and that killed her. Just like its sad when an alcoholic or drug addicts behaviour kills them. It's sad that her family couldn't or didn't help her with this addiction. I don't know the circumstances so I can't judge her family's actions but I hope that someone tried to help her with this addiction.

From BBC Online:

Mr Crerar [the coroner] said that Coca-Cola could not be held responsible for the health of consumers who drank excessive quantities of its product.
But he called on soft drinks companies to display clearer warnings on their beverages about the risks of too much sugar and caffeine.

Damn straight Coca-Cola can't be held responsible. But I disagree that soft drink companies should have to display clearer warnings about the risks of too much sugar and caffeine. Only the most ignorant or illiterate of people don't know that too much sugar or caffeine is very bad for you. I am sick to death of people not taking responsibility for their lives and their own personal health, blaming companies like Coca-Cola or McDonalds for their ill-health or weigh problems.

You're not sick and/or overweight/obese because of these companies, you're sick and/or overweight/obese because you either have A) an addiction or mental illness (eating disorders included) that drives you to overeat or B) you have no self-control and don't watch what you eat or exercise, or, C) in very rare circumstances, you have a genetic condition that causes you those problems.

Balls up people! I 'll admit it, I'm overweight because I love food that's bad for me and I'm a lazy bitch that doesn't exercise. There is no-one to blame but myself. And while I'd love to blame the makers of Magnums and Cadbury Chocolate for my weight problems, the simple fact of the matter is I have no-one to blame but myself, and so do the majority of people. Call me a bitch, call me harsh, tell me I don't understand or I am taking a simplistic view, I don't care, its the truth.

Fuckwit Mindfuck!

**While googling for this image I found the answer to this question! I can wonder no more .
I am off to the app store! {Image Credit}

How do people do those little emoticon things on Instagram and other places? I'm not just talking about a smiley face or winky face, I'm talking those awesome hearts and bunches of flowers and clapping hands and steaming piles of poo. How do they do it? Is there an app**? Is there a website I can go to to learn these things? I need to know people, I need to know! It's been plaguing me for weeks now, the fact that I don't know how to create a steaming pile of poo icon on Instagram. Somebody please, put me out of my misery!!!

Mindfuck!

So there you have it folks, some pressing shit that I just had to get off my chest this Valentine's Day (which, if you're interested, my V-Day care-factor is firmly at minus elevnty-billion!). It feels good to get those Ranty McRanterson designer Ranty Pants back on, they suit me, and they soooo don't make my bum look big at all. I blame the Magnums and Cadbury chocolate for that!

Got any pressing shit you need to get off your chest? Go right ahead, my Ranty McRanterson designer Ranty Pants are one-size-fits-all!

Great post Kylie and so very true !!!! I can't stand Mundine either - not SBW or QC the way they are going !!!!! As to the magic of the internet - I am totally with you - I don't have to understand how it works to be able to enjoy it. A has given up (for now anyway) trying to explain things unseen that help me because I just don't get it and, like you, I'm not actually interested in getting it - so long as what I want to do works, I don't care how !!!
Shucks - here all this time I thought I could sue someone for me enjoyment of things that aren't good for my health - bugger poo bum - looks like I am going to have to do something about it all by myself !!!!
So glad to hear others have the same care factor as I do about V-Day !!!!
Have the best afternoon.

Can I join the 'Screw Valentine's Day, got my Ranty Pants on' fun? Because I'm pretty sure my hubby just lost his job because I posted on FB about his 13-hour-straight-no-breaks work day... and Mundine is a twat in every single way.
EXCELLENT rant, Kylie! x

Thanks a million for this - I LOVE your rants, so honest and try and everyone. I also have an addiction to the 'croke a cola' - NOT COOL, and yes I'm to blame. Mundane as I like to call him - Asshat contender for shizzel! Great post as usual :) Em x

I think I just caused a scene with my standing ovation. And then another one, and another one... awesome!

Fuck Mundine, he is the most racist motherfucker of all. So you're Aboriginal, get over it wanker. You were a wanker as a football player, you are a wanker as a boxer, and I am positively certain you're a wanker even when you're in the shower. And I'm totally with you on the Coca Cola/McDonalds/everyone else but ME is to blame for your problems BS. What fuckwit thinks its ok to drink that much coke? SERIOUSLY?
And yes, the magic of the internet is a truly beautiful thing. Today your ranty pants have made me smile. Thank you x
Kylie Purtell said…
Oh no! That sucks Tara. Hope everything is ok. x

This post had me laughing! And what's with all the 'My little ponies' (don't think I didn't google it after your mention!)? But no evidence of these 'Randy' pants that were promised in your Facebook status update ;).

Great post. Anthony Mundine is a waste of space but he's Mohammad Ali in his own mind. I was astounded about the coke issue. How could you consume 10 litres of the stuff in one day. All the unfortunate woman would be able to do would be drink coke and sit on the loo.
Kylie Purtell said…
Oooo there certainly some stuff that rile me up like people wearing beanies in summer or spitting on the pathway!! Anyway you're using an iPhone right? Get thr emoticon keyboard. Same way you choose language options. It comes with all of it, even the shitheads haha.

The coke lady!!!!!! And that nobody around her saw the problem.. WHAT THE!!!! Seriously people take responsibility for your own actions. I think companies are sneaky and try to outsmart us with their advertising and labelling, but we can't blame them for our own ignorance!

You crack me up!!!
Prue xx

That was nothing short of hilarious. I agree on all levels. X

Ranty pants!! My favourite pants of all! And you are SO VERY RIGHT - about everything. Soon they'll be putting warnings on taps - 'if you drink 100 litres of water your brain will swell and you'll die' - because some moron, somewhere, will do it. I think maybe My LIttle Ponies are, in fact, running the internet. That's the secret to the magic.

You hit the nail on the head.
It is a shame that Anthony Mundine has destroyed his opportunity to represent our Indigenous community.
He has been given so many chances but has cocked it up - repeatedly.
People love to hate this guy now - he is very negative and very ugly.
Such a talented sportsman who has WASTED his chance to advocate and be a role model for so many young people.

Wanker in the shower!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bwahahahahha!!

I love this Kylez - yep, yep and yep. I've never had any time for Mundine - I wish someone he trusted and listened to would just lay down what a dick he looks to the public and get him to wake up to himself. And good on you for even trying to comprehend how the internet works. I love the episode of The IT Crowd where they convince the non-IT manager that the internet is a black box that she subsequently 'breaks' - my small mind can cope with the idea of a black box, it somehow comforts me...

I love it so much when you get ranty! You crack me up!

It's really sad about that lady and her Coca Cola addiction. I do get your point that people should take responsibility for their own actions but some people are that uneducated and illiterate about nutrition that it does become at dangerous levels to their consumption. And it's very much the case in struggling socio economic areas.
Not sure if the soft drink companies should take responsibility as they might not necessarily be the direct cause of deaths (especially this lady's) but caffeine can be an addiction. I truly believe people just don't think people realise that.
That's why I love Jamie Oliver so much. He's trying to do so much to literally change people's lives.
Kylie Purtell said…
Aaargghh... it's always painful to read what people say about families and addiction. I can't tell you how painful it is to watch people you love killing themselves, and to be completely powerless to help. Totally powerless. It's worse even when you are a child.

I haven't read the reports about this poor woman who died, but I am sure you are correct, she may well have had a mental illness. From my experience when people are mentally ill, then releasing themselves from addictions is almost/always impossible. Compassion is required... BUT my main thought is never to think we have anything LIKE the full story from newspaper reports.

And that's my rant over!!

You're funny! I totally agree: the internet is magic for me too!
