On This Day 4 Years Ago

...We got Married

We've been together for 10 years.

One third of my life.

The Happiest third.

Never would have guessed this 10 years ago!
I can't imagine what my life would be like now if I hadn't been introduced to Dave all those years ago, on July 19th 2002. If he hadn't finally gotten the guts to get my number and call me. Sometimes it's hard to comprehend all that has happened in the last 10 years. We're parents for heaven's sake!

And I don't want to imagine what life would be like.

I am seriously one of the luckiest women in the world to have found a man who is so good to me. He puts up with my crap. He looks out for me. He cooks dinner for me almost every night. He often does my washing for me.

He may not be big on the romantic side of things, but it's the little things he does that prove his love for me time and time again.

A love I often don't deserve. A love I've taken for granted on occasion. A love I've abused and treated poorly.

But even after I've treated him badly there is still that love. Through all the good times and the bad, we've stuck together. We've been honest with each other. But most of all we've accepted each other and supported each other, no matter what.

I am so lucky. The luckiest.

I love you Mr.P, with all my heart and soul, and I can't wait to spend the next decade and beyond together.

And by the way...

...You're Crazy!

For me, I think the key to our lasting relationship has been learning to let go of the anger, the hurts, the petty disagreements. Acceptance and a sense of humour. Support.

What do you think is the secret to a lasting relationship?

Woo! You've achieved and done so much in those 10 years really! And how awesome are kids- like the beautiful little cherries on the top of your cake of life!

Haha, is that too corny??!!!

Nope, it's not too corny at all, they definitely are the beautiful little cherries!

Check out those early pics! Ah, young love, I think you've both aged well though!
The sense of humour is definitely key. As well as acceptance and forgiveness. Oh, and he has to cook. I just won't last if he doesn't cook. You know you agree ;-)

Why thank you!

I'd probably be almost dead if Dave didn't cook and you know it! It's lucky I'm so beautiful to make up for my cooking shortfalls! Lol!

How fabulous to love your husband so much. I read a lot of Blogs where women are grateful for their men, and it's beautiful to read because good relationships bring strength and greater love to the rest of the world. We all need support, forgiveness and the grace to be ourselves, and to be acknowledgedfood it. I find it through my friends at the moment, and it's good. I'm thankful that my daughters athletics carnival is only once a year. I'm hear now and I can hardly hear myself think!! X

Wow, 30 years, that's awesome! I can't even begin to imagine what our life would be like in another 20 years. Congratulations to your parents, they obviously know the secret!

Thanks! Yep, the day we started dating was our first pash too...in the darkened car park of Panthers, after a massive night of drinking, while our friends stood and laughed at us and told us to hurry up and say good bye! Lol! So classy!
