Nothing to Blog About

Image from here
Before I had Punky I was really looking forward to being on maternity leave and maybe having a little more time to blog. It's taken a few months but we are now finally at a stage where she is sleeping well and I have a few spare hours in the day to get stuff done around the house and sit down at the computer.

The only problem is, I have nothing to blog about!

Sure, I could blog about Punky till the cows come home, but I sometimes I think people don't really want to hear about her in every single blog post.

But then I think, well who cares, it's my blog and I should just blog about whatever takes my fancy, and of course, Punky is my fancy at the moment and I'm not too fussed about building readership or becoming a pro blogger or anything like that coz I just don't have the passion for it that I used to.

But at the same time, I am also very aware of the fact that there are a lot of people out there who have struggled to have kids, can't have kids or have kids with problems and I don't want to throw my baby joy in their face if they happen to read this little ol' blog.

But again that just brings me back to the fact that it doesn't really matter what other people think because I just blog for myself mostly anyway.

My other problem is that I have so many things to say but when I sit down to actually write a blog post the ideas and words just kind of get stuck in my head. Or too many words come out and the post ends up ridiculously long and doesn't make a lot of sense. *Sigh*

I have to say though, in the end, it's a nice problem to have. A much better problem to have than the problems that 99% of the rest of the world have to face. I'm extremely lucky that my biggest problem is having nothing to blog about. And also having no motivation to clean my house.

Man I hate cleaning my house! And laundry. Doing laundry is almost as bad as doing the washing up.

I'll put my hand up for more Mia on the blog!! LOVE reading about your days with her and what she's up to. It's especially lovely for us who know you and don't get to see you/her all the time!

This is a fantastic season in your life and I think you should embrace it on your blog, if nothing else it will be a wonderful journal for her one day reading what mum wrote when she was tiny. :-)

That doesnt mean that you cant write about other things too, but I totally think you should write about what YOU want to. This is your little corner of web-land and while it's lovely you want to be sensitive to your readers..who are you writing for? Us or yourself?

If those of us without kids dont want to or find it hard to read about Mia..well thats ok..we could skim or there are heaps of other non-baby blogs out there! :-)

So yep, I'm definitely voting for more Mia! I don't think I'd ever have enough of seeing her gorgeous little face. <3 <3

Here ends my essay. LOL
