St Matthew's Anglican Church & Cemetery, Windsor NSW

I mentioned in a previous post (playing along with Hello Owl's PUSH game) that Dave and I spent a little bit of time wandering around St. Matthew's Anglican Church cemetery, one of the oldest in the country.

There are gravestones there for people that arrived in Australia on the First Fleet and it's fascinating seeing all the different names and ages on the gravestones and wondering what these people were like, what their lives were like.

It's a great place for taking photographs too, especially at that time of day (about 2:30pm), the light is lovely, gives the whole place a sort of  beautiful sadness if you know what I mean.

The ones with babies always make me sad. And there are so many from that era

I'll post a few more over the weeks to come as I go through them and pick out the best ones.
