{Image}

My friend tagged me in this note on facebook on Wednesday and I thought I'd share it here too. Feel free to copy and paste to your own blog (if you do add your blog to the linky at the bottom so I can check it out).

Have you read more than 6 of these books? The BBC believes most people will have read only 6 of the 100 books listed here.

Instructions: Copy this into your post. Bold those books you've read in their entirety, italicize the ones you started but didn't finish or read an excerpt.

1 Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
2 The Lord of the Rings - JRR Tolkien
3 Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte
4 Harry Potter series - JK Rowling (My all-time fav series!)
5 To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee  (I read this in year 6 and it was one of the first books that really made me think about racism)
6 The Bible
7 Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte
8 Nineteen Eighty Four - George Orwell  (Read this under duress - read: 3Unit HSC English)
9 His Dark Materials - Philip Pullman

20 Middlemarch - George Eliot
21 Gone With The Wind - Margaret Mitchell
22 The Great Gatsby - F Scott Fitzgerald
24 War and Peace - Leo Tolstoy (I started to read this when I was about 12 years old, after reading an article in a Time magazine about books everyone should read. I got through about 3 chapters and couldn't get any further!)

40 Winnie the Pooh - A.A. Milne
41 Animal Farm - George Orwell (This was the Orwell book I wish I'd had to read for school. I read it when I was in year 12, not long after I read 1984, which I had to read for 3Unit English. I really liked Animal Farm, 1984 not so much!)

60 Love In The Time Of Cholera - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
61 Of Mice and Men - John Steinbeck
62 Lolita - Vladimir Nabokov
63 The Secret History - Donna Tartt (I just couldn't finish this for some reason. I got about three quarters of the way through, got side-tracked by something else and just never found the motivation to go back to it)

can you publish the original BBC link please? I cannot find it on BBC web site.

During these days, the list is circulating on FB. I see that your list is pretty different from FB....I guess someone manipulated for an Italian audience the list!

Thanks
