Waitin On...

Yet again I've been bad and ordered some more books from Booktopia. I know, I know, don't I have enough books already?

No. I don't.

So, I'm currently waitin' on - You or Someone Like You by Chandler Burr. I read about this one on a publishers new release schedule and it intrigued me. Summed up in one line by booktopia, better than I could do myself...
When the bored housewife of a Hollywood producer begins a bookclub, the cynical denizens of Tinseltown fall hard for literature ... A witty, clever and tender novel about how books and literature can shape our lives

I'm also waitin' on Only in New York-How I took Manhatten (with the kids) by Caroline Overington. Mia Freedman reccommended this on her website one day and it's been on my wish list for a while and I decided to finally get it as its on sale. Overington is an Australian journalist who is offered an overseas correspondant position in New York. New York is great for adults, but with toddler twins? I'm looking forward to reading about her adventures.

And finally, the one I'm really hanging for, Catching Fire, the second book in the Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins. I started reading the first book, The Hunger Games, on Christmas Eve Eve at about 11pm and didn't put it down until i had finished it at 4am! It was THAT good. I've been exceptionally slack in posting reviews of late, I've read so many books but reviewed so little, something I plan to remedy next year. So watch this space for some more reviews really soon!

Are you waitin on anything or have you instituted a book buying ban like fellow blogger Alice did? And something I should probably impose on myself!

Could never impose a book ban! :) Thanks for the recommendations - I need to start me a list of stuff you recommend. I'm going to have to get the first book in particular. Happy 2010 Mrs P, looking forward to reading your reviews. xo

I'm looking forward to your review of my novel, You Or Someone Like You. (I think the Australian cover is terrific, completely different to the American cover.)

best,

Chandler Burr
