This book is different. Basically it's a cautionary tale on how we treat the world, and the fact that by destroying the environment we are dooming ourselves to total destruction. Tepper uses well-known fairy tales and re-works them to suit her story, also weaving Celtic mythology as she goes.

I'm not sure if I really like it or not yet. I like the main character, Beauty, but apart from her there aren't any other really likable characters, which is probably the authors point.

I'll post a review once I'm done, I have a about a quarter of the book to go, so hope to finish Tuesday or Wednesday night.
