Wednesday's Wacky Book of the Week - Pebble Pets
Pebble Pets by Steve & Megumi Biddle, Published by David & Charles, Paperback, Aust RRP: $29.99, ISBN: 9780715331750
First up I'll start by apologising to the authors and anyone that likes pointless crafts. I don't think you're wacky, I just think this book is.
Basically this book contains "30 lovable companions crafted from pebbles and paper". In my opinion it should read "30 lovable dust collectors", but let's not sweat the small stuff as they say.
By using a simple combination of a pebble and some paper, you can create some really cute little creatures. And when I say cute, I do mean cute. Despite what you think, some of the little creatures, like guinea pigs (which I'm always a sucker for!). pigs, dogs, cats, rabbits and the like are actually very cute and despite appearances, easy to make.
Coz let's face it...it's not that hard to cover a rock in paper.
I really think this would make a great school craft project, something you'd do on a Tuesday afternoon with a bunch of 10 year-olds, coz they would love it.
At $30 I think it's a bit much to get for your own personal use, but if you're a teacher and looking for something fun for the kids to make, this book has some cool ideas.
You can grab a copy from Booktopia here.
