Tomorrow

Tomorrow is going to be a good day!

Going to try to get up early, which is never easy when your hubby works night-shift and stays up so late Friday nite...
...but, still going to try. I have decided to re-decorate our bedroom and we are going to the decorator shop to check out some textured, paint-on, wallpaper. I had a look during the week and I've chosen the ones I like (and of course the ones I really like cost twice as much!) so it's just a matter of getting hubby's opinion (it's only fair, he does have to sleep in the room too, I suppose) and then ordering it. Yay! I also went up to Bunnings and got sample pots of the two greens we are tossing up between, so going to scrub down the wall and then test them out. Our room is quite small and doesn't get a lot of sun so it's rather dark, we need something that isn't going to make the room too gloomy or crowded. So they are two of the palest greens there are. Just need to see how they both look in different lights and then decide. Getting so excited now!
When we bought our place 2 years ago I was in love with it, even though there were quite a few things that needed fixing up. But I think that's what I liked about it, it's a chance to put my stamp on something that's truly 'ours'. Two years have passed and we've pretty much done nothing to the house and I am growing discontent. I still love it, but I want to change it. Now. With a click of my fingers!

Fair enough that we did get maried last year, so it's not like we have really had a lot of time or money to do anything any way. But I want to do so many things that I decided I would just start doing a room at a time and working my way through the house (then we can start on the backyard!) So, when we have the week off, the first week in August, I am re-decorating our room!

We are going up to Seclusions Luxury Spa Cabins in the Mountains for three nights from Sunday the 2nd, our anniversary, and when we get back, we're painting! And sanding! Sanding down the great bedside tables I picked up second-hand for $25 that I am going to stain the same colour as the bed. I just need to find a nice chest of drawers to match the bed and bedside tables and I'm good to go. The only thing I can't change now is the carpet, which is disapointing, but seeing as ALL the flooring, in ALL of the house needs to be replaced, I figure it will be better (and cheaper) to get it all done at once.

I'm also looking forward to getting Scuttles, the male quail some new mates. His last female pal, Q2, (named after the first female, Mrs.Q) died during the week, so he has been crying up a storm, wailing at all times of the night and day.

I've ALSO convinced the hubby to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince with me, so I am VERY, VERY excited about that!

All-in-all it should be a pretty good day! I hope your day, and weekend for that matter is just as good!

Wow, you have a pet quail?! I didn't even realise people kept them as pets! That's pretty interesting!

Good luck with the decorating. Post pics when you're done ;)
