Blog This: Challenge 6 - Dinner for Eight

The Dinner Party

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to plan a fabulous dinner party. You've been given a healthy budget, so don't scrimp!

Guest list - 8 people, dead or alive, real or ficticious.

The menu - will this be your very own masterchef moment, or is outsourcing more your style?

Is there a theme? What will be the entertainment for the evening? What will you wear? What will you talk about? Don't forget the wine!

Ahhh, I totally forgot about the challenge! Here's my rush job at 7pm Wed nite!

The Party - My favourite gatherings are always a relaxed affair, at someone's house, chilling in the backyard with a nice glass of wine. Therefore my dinner party would be a late summer afternoon BBQ, with some lovely fairy lights around the place to add a bit of atmosphere.

My Guest List:
1. Grandma - My Grandma is the most amazing women I have ever had the honour to meet. She passed away in 2001 and I would love to have another conversation with her. She talks more than I do so she would be great!
2. Julie Andrews - My most favourite singer/actress. I would love to ask her all about her career and get some singing tips.
3. Henry from The Time Traveller's Wife - My fav book, I would love to talk to him about his chronological disorder.
4. Claire from The Time Traveller's Wife - Same reason as Henry
5. Stephanie Plum from Janet Evanovich's books- My fav heroine from the most hilarious series of books.
6. Alan Pease, Body Language and Relationship Expert - I would love to pick his brains and listen to a conversation between he and my Grandma.
7. Barbara Pease, Body Language and Relationship Expert - same as Alan.
8. My Husband - Because I love him and he's funny and my Grandma never got to meet him.

The Menu - I'd start of with some Cheesy Pesto Triangles on tortillia's and some Pigs in Blankets (love those little guys!). I'd then cook up a bunch of steaks, some herb & garlic suasages and Kanga-Banga's (kangaroo sausages). I'd also do up some chicken, beef and veggies skewers and for those that like em, some salad. Dessert would be massive fruit platter, ice cream and a mudcake!
