Family Photos: Take 2! // Daily Life

At the end of June we had some family photos take by the fabulous Holly from Holly Priddis Photography. Holly took our last lot of family photos, back in October 2012 when Punky was 11 months old. Zee wasn't even born when I contacted Holly to enquire about having some more photos taken once Zee was the same age that Punky had been. I was so impressed with the first photos she had taken for us, and I knew she would be able to work her magic again.

I Birth on Tuesday: One Year Later // Motherhood // Life

Following your dreams
On the last Tuesday of July last year, I had just given birth to my second daughter Zee. I whacked up a little birth announcement to let all my bloggy friends know, and then a month later I posted Zee's birth story and titled it "I Birth on Tuesday: A Study in Contractions". I bet you didn't know I love puns, huh ;)

It's kinda unreal that an entire year has passed since that day. My beautiful baby girl turns 1 tomorrow and if I'm perfectly honest, I'm in a bit of denial about the whole thing!

Dymocks 2014 Top 101 Books List | Reading

A couple of months ago I was in my local Dymocks buying a few books (just browsing if Dave asks!) and I got to chatting with the owner about the new Top 101 List. For those who don't know, the Dymocks Top 101 Books list is an annual poll of people in the BookLover Club asking them to name their favourite books. As with any kind of poll that relies on people to nominate their favourite something, the results will vary wildly. Taste is subjective, as I've written about before.

Peppa Pig Live! Treasure Hunt // Life

Punky & I were guests of the promoter
The other week Punky and I were lucky enough to attend the Peppa Pig Live! Treasure Hunt show at Penrith Panthers. It was the perfect excuse for a little one-on-one time with my big girl, something that there hasn't been a great deal of lately, and that I knew she was really needing. She was super excited in the lead-up to the show, asking me every day all week when we would get to see Peppa on stage. We even bought a new long-sleeved Peppa Pig tee in preparation for the show.

The REAL 5 Steps to Bed (for toddlers) // Laughs // Motherhood

Jimmy Giggle has got it so damn wrong. As any parent of a toddler will tell you, Jimmy's 5 steps to bed are just the warm-up for the main event. And if Jimmy's 5 steps (brushing teeth, PJs on, story or sleepy-time song, cuddling favourite toy and saying hello to the night) are the only steps you have to take before your toddler goes off to sleepy-time then I only have one thing to say to you...

Damn You! In the nicest possible way (and pleeeeease tell me your secret!!!).

Here's the real 5 steps to bed when it comes to toddlers...

Tips for Dealing with Pregnancy Weight Gain // Motherhood

This post brought to you by Maternity Sale
Many of you know that I have struggled with losing the baby weight and it is something that I have written about on the blog before. Something I haven't written about though is the fact that I actually really loved my body while I was pregnant. Despite the fact that I put on quite a bit of weight during both my pregnancies  I actually felt more comfortable dressing my pregnant body than I did my non-pregnant body.

Words to Live By {Part One} // Life

Over at The Lounge this week which, is being guest-hosted by the lovely Emma at Five Degrees of Chaos by the way, it's all about Words to Live By. I have been an avid quote collector for as long as I can remember. I have en entire A4 exercise book tha I have filled, writing down the ones I've found over the years. I've shared my love of quotes on the blog before, and have had many a quote-related post, but today, I present Part One of some of my favourite quotes (that I did of course have to turn in to quiptures too! Feel free to pin away!).

Words to Live By

It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not.

Interview with a Husband | Love

Last night I was sitting at the computer trying to think about what to write for IBOT this week. I had nothing. So I asked Dave what he thought I should write about. The ABC 4 Kids changes he said with a smirk. That was his answer to the same question last week, which I did of course do

I said that maybe he should write a post for me, the blogging ladies love a guest post from the men. He looked at me like I was from Mars. "Well how about I interview you, would you do that?" Do I have to be serious, he asked? When I said no he was all on board. So here it is.

And the next Tosser Trophy Goes to... // Laughs

It may have escaped the notice of thousands, if not millions of Australians, but something terrible happened for a large portion of the Australian public yesterday. Something that carries huge ramifications, the shock-waves of which will be felt for generations to come...

Katherine to Sydney or Bust! {Adventures in Manual Mode} // Photography

At the beginning of last year I set myself the challenge of shooting in manual mode as much as possible, in order to work on my photography skills and really see what I was capable of. I've been working at it, and I think I am definitely getting better. I'm still not confident to go 100% manual, especially in situations where certain moments just can't be missed, but in situations where there are no time constraints I can have some fun and really experiment.

Five Things I've Been Loving {A Cup of Tea with Me (and Pip!)} // Life

So I mentioned in this post that I had signed up for a blogging course with Pip from Meet Me At Mike's. Although I still haven't finished working my way through all of the lessons (life kinda kicked my arse there for a while with Mum in hospital), I have learnt quite a bit and really enjoyed getting to know the other students. And of course learning from one of the blogging masters herself, Pip.
